Spring Festivalito 2018

A cozy tango weekend with an educational focus in Xanthi

The Spring Festivalito 2018 took place in spring 2018 and was organized under the umbrella of Philoproodos Union of Xanthi (FEX), offering Argentine Tango lovers a warm and meaningful learning experience.

Staying true to the philosophy of Tango Aires festivalitos, the event was designed as a human-scaled tango weekend, emphasizing musicality, connection, and close interaction between teachers and participants.

A Festivalito with an Educational Focus

Tango Aires festivalitos are conceived as small-scale tango weekends with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Workshops take place in smaller, more homogeneous groups, allowing deeper focus on technique, clearer communication with the teachers, and a more personal learning experience for each role.

Guest Teachers

The Spring Festivalito 2018 hosted internationally renowned tango teachers Jose Luis Salvo and Carla Rossi, well known for their participation and distinctions in major international competitions, including Metropolitanos Tango y Milonga 2017 and the World Tango Championship 2017.

Drawing inspiration from the authentic aesthetics of Buenos Aires, the couple shared their artistic vision and passion for social tango with the participants.

Tango Workshops

Two workshops were held during the afternoon:

  • 18:00 – 19:30

  • 19:45 – 21:15

Participants had the opportunity to deepen their technique and partnership skills under the guidance of an experienced and internationally active tango couple, in a focused and supportive learning environment.

Milonga at FEX Cultural Center

The evening concluded with a milonga at the FEX Cultural Center, creating a warm and vibrant space for dancers and guests to share the joy of tango.

Music selection was curated by TDj Hakki Ince, setting the perfect mood for dancing late into the night.

Tango Show – Spring Festivalito 2018

As part of the milonga, the guest teachers presented a special tango show, capturing the energy, musicality, and connection that defined the entire festivalito.

The Spring Festivalito 2018 left a strong impression on the local tango community, strengthening connections between dancers and creating lasting memories beyond the duration of the event itself.
