4th Tango Aires Festival
8-10 December 2017 (Xanthi)
The TangoAires Festival Xanthi 2017 – 4th Edition took place on 8–10 December 2017 in Xanthi, Greece, and became one of the most memorable chapters in the story of our community events. With the spirit of social Argentine Tango at its core, the festival brought dancers together through seminars, milongas, and shared dancefloor moments that felt honest, warm and deeply connected.
Our guest teachers for this edition were Natasha Lewinger and Haris Mihail, two outstanding milongueros, professional dancers, organisers, choreographers, musicians and tango teachers, internationally known for their unique style and strong presence.
Natasha and Haris began their tango journeys in 2005 and 2006, and their paths came together in 2016. Since 2011, they have been teaching and performing in festivals, championships and special tango events across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
They are widely recognised for their connection, elegance, musicality, dynamic quality, and the overall authenticity they bring into tango — both in their teaching and on the dancefloor.
Their style bridges the world of social tango in the milonga with the aesthetics of stage tango, offering a rich and expressive approach without falling into unnecessary exaggeration. They deeply value the culture of El Río de la Plata, and their work highlights tango as a living social and cultural tradition.
As they say:
“The most important thing in tango for us is the real embrace and the connection. We are passionate about technique, but only as a way to improve our connection and the feelings that allow us to communicate and adapt to every body and every style.”
Seminars & Milongas
The festival programme included tango seminars focused on connection, musicality and movement quality, as well as milongas where dancers could relax, enjoy the music, and let the learning become real social dancing.
For TangoAires, tango is not just something you study, it’s something you share.
