Anniversary festivalito celebrating 14 years of Tango Aires
On September 30, 2017, the Philoproodos Union of Xanthi (FEX) celebrated the 14th anniversary of Tango Aires with a special festivalito dedicated to Argentine Tango.
The event marked an important milestone in the group’s journey, bringing together education, artistic expression, and social dancing in a festive and deeply connected atmosphere.
A Festivalito Celebrating the Tango Aires Journey
The 14 Years Tango Aires Festivalito was not just another tango weekend.
It was a celebration of the people, experiences, and shared moments that shaped the identity of Tango Aires over the years, while remaining true to the festivalito philosophy: a cozy atmosphere, meaningful connection, and high-quality tango experiences.
International Guest Artists
For the first time in Greece, the festivalito hosted internationally acclaimed tango dancers Jose Luis Salvo and Carla Rossi, champions of Metropolitanos Tango y Milonga 2017 and runners-up at the World Tango Championship 2017.
Their presence represented a landmark moment for the Greek tango community, bringing the authentic aesthetics and spirit of Buenos Aires to Xanthi.
Tango Workshops
Two intensive tango workshops were offered during the festivalito, giving participants the opportunity to explore:
technique and movement quality
musicality and interpretation
connection within the couple
In line with the festivalito concept, the workshops emphasized experiential learning and close interaction between teachers and dancers.
Anniversary Tango Performance
As part of the celebration, the guest artists presented a special tango performance that became one of the highlights of the evening and a reference point for tango lovers.
