TangoAires Festival Xanthi 2016 – 3rd Edition

The TangoAires Festival Xanthi 2016 – 3rd Edition took place on 9–11 December 2016 in Xanthi, Greece, and became one of the warmest chapters in the story of our TangoAires Festivals. Over the course of one weekend, dancers shared seminars, milongas, and unforgettable moments on the dancefloor, guided by two outstanding artists of Argentine Tango.
Our guest teachers for this edition were Silvana Prieto and Matias Batista Aleman, internationally recognised tango dancers and teachers known for their technique, elegance and musicality. Their presence in Xanthi shaped both the learning experience and the atmosphere of the milongas, leaving behind strong memories for everyone who joined us.
Guest Teachers: Silvana Prieto & Matias Batista Aleman
Silvana Prieto is widely appreciated for her technical precision and the emotional clarity she brings to connection and embrace. Through years of international teaching and performances, she has shared the essence of Argentine Tango in a way that feels direct, grounded and truly social.
Matias Batista Aleman has earned worldwide recognition, including a major distinction as winner of the Tango Salon Championship in Buenos Aires. Known for his elegance and strong stage presence, he combines refined technique with an expressive quality that translates beautifully both in performance and in the milonga.
Ο Matias Batista Aleman έχει κερδίσει παγκόσμια αναγνώριση, με σημαντική διάκριση τη νίκη του στο Tango Salon Championship στο Μπουένος Άιρες. Η κομψότητα, η δεξιοτεχνία και η σκηνική του παρουσία συνδυάζονται με έναν τρόπο που “γράφει” τόσο στο show όσο και στην πίστα της milonga.
Seminars & Milongas
The festival programme included seminars focused on connection, flow and musicality, followed by milongas where dancers could relax, enjoy the music and let everything become real social dancing. For TangoAires, tango is always about the community, and the dancefloor is where the whole experience comes to life.
